You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Spring book readers for elementary classes: You can bring a story to life this April 15-19 in the United Way of Freeborn County spring readers project. Call Amanda Weiss at 373-8670 to pick a school, an elementary class grades kindergarten to second and a date to read the new, locally written and published story, “Chuck the Duck Makes Friends.” It’s sure to add fun to everyone’s day.
Village cleanup: Enjoy time outdoors at the historical society’s pioneer village with friends preparing it for the spring and summer’s activities. Just bring your own rubber gloves and elbow grease — all other cleaning supplies are provided. Please call Pat Mulso at 373-8003 to be included in the fun and coffee break goodies. When it’s slick as a whistle you’ll know you’ve made a clear difference for the village.
Bowl-A-Thon for The Arc: It’s free bowling and prizes for you from 1 to 3 p.m. April 27 when you bring in $25 to $45 in pledges for The Arc of Freeborn County. Or you can help Jo Lowe and crew with the event. Call her at 377-3469 for more information and to register.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
