Here are highlights in history for Feb. 21, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — The Tribune donated microfilm reels of several weekly newspapers dated 1870 to 1926 to the Albert Lea Public Library. These local newspapers included the Freeborn County Standard, Examiner and Times-Enterprise.
1983 — Gordon C. West, a member of the Albert Lea Police Department for 23 years, died several days earlier at Naeve Hospital.
1963 — Mrs. Joseph Harding was elected as the president of the newly-organized Albert Lea Chapter of TTT, a philanthropic organization.
