ST. PAUL — Gov. Mark Dayton is ordering Minnesota flags lowered to honor victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Dayton signed a proclamation ordering all flags flown at half-staff at state and federal buildings in Minnesota from Tuesday until sunset Saturday.
In his proclamation, Dayton says a “terrible act of violence” was committed against innocent men, women and children in Boston.
Earlier Tuesday, President Barack Obama ordered flags at the White House and all government buildings to be flown at half-staff in honor of the Boston Marathon explosion victims.
Three people were killed, including an 8-year-old boy, and more than 170 were wounded in Monday’s bombing at the marathon’s finish line.
