NEW RICHLAND — The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers boys’ basketball team eclipsed the .500 mark Tuesday for the first time this season with a 63-43 win over Waseca in New Richland.
The Panthers salvaged their season by winning 11 of their final 13 games after starting the year 2-10.
“I am really proud of how our team stuck together and kept working” Panthers coach Pat Churchill said. “We knew that if we kept working we would start to play better and we have the last half of the season.”
Evan Ferber led the Panthers with 21 points.
“Ferber played outstanding for the third straight night,” Churchill said. “He is carrying us offensively like I have not seen from him.”
Hunter Eustice chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.
