Here are highlights in history for Feb. 23, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — Members of the American Legion Auxiliary and Junior Legionnaires from Albert Lea and Glenville were making several types of birdhouses to be put up when spring weather arrives.
1975 — A new “Pitch In” campaign was underway to place refuse cans in Edgewater Park to help prevent litter problems.
1945 — Milton Christopherson would be the new owner of the Lerdal Country Store.
