ST. PAUL — Minnesota officials from Gov. Mark Dayton on down are meeting to discuss steps they’re taking to combat expected spring flooding.
Dayton planned Wednesday to take part in two flood preparation events. A snowy winter has officials on guard for flooding along the Mississippi River and other major Minnesota waterways.
Emergency management and local elected officials were planning to join Dayton at the flood preparation meetings in South St. Paul and Stillwater.
Earlier this week, Dayton participated in conference calls with top officials in North Dakota, South Dakota and Manitoba to discuss joint flood prevention and response efforts.
