Meet Linda (Lamaack) Stigney
Name: Linda (Lamaack) Stigney
Age: 62
Livelihood: Homemaker and crafter. In the past, I enjoyed working as a custody driver at the prison in Shakopee.
City of residence: Albert Lea
For how long: 23 years
Tell us about your family: I raised six children, who all care about others as I taught them. I have 14 grandchildren, two who have autism. I love them all dearly.
Where do you volunteer and how long have you volunteered there? I’ve volunteered for the Arc since 1980 and love working with children with special needs. I’ve also volunteered for the Boy Scouts, 4-H and for programs working with battered women.
Why do you volunteer? Because I believe in bringing a smile and joy into the lives of others. It brightens my day if I’ve brightened someone else’s.
What was the last book you read? The Bible.
What are your hobbies? I like knitting, scrapbooking projects and donating to worthy causes.
What’s your favorite movie? “The Impossible,” a true story about a tsunami. I highly recommend it.
