Cynthia Berge, 59, of Montevideo, died Friday, May 24, 2013. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Cynthia Jane (Holthe) Berge was born on May 1, 1954, in Zumbrota to Obert and Gladys (Swain) Holthe.
She was baptized at Stordahl Church and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pine Island. She grew up in Pine Island and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1972. She attended Moorhead State College and worked and attended school in Rochester. On June 30, 1979, she was united in marriage to Robert Berge at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pine Island. They settled in the Milan and Montevideo area, where she worked as a receptionist at the Montevideo Clinic for more than 33 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping, gambling, playing badminton, summer vacations in Branson, Mo., and visiting with people. The most enjoyable time for her was spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Haeden.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Derek Berge of Montevideo; a daughter, Maegen (and Travis) Honzay and their son Haeden of Sacred Heart; her mother, Gladys Holthe of Zumbrota; and a sister, Jeanne Gross of Albert Lea.
