Panthers, Knights send golfers to section meet

The United South Central and Alden-Conger boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed Tuesday at the Sub-Section 2A meet at Rose Lake Golf Course
in Fairmont.
The USC boys’ and girls’ teams were both the meet champions, meaning the entire team qualified for the Section 2A meet.
“We shot well when we needed to,” USC head coach Brad Huse said. “The boys and girls were both a little under average.”
USC’s Nate Pederson was the medalist for the boys’ division. He shot a 74. Eight teams competed in the boys’ division.
The Rebels’ Kyley Bullerman was the medalist in the girls’ division. She shot a 90. Six teams competed in the girls’ division.
The Alden-Conger boys took seventh place. Eli Hallman won a tie- breaker with Jordan Hallman to qualify for sections.
The Alden-Conger girls took third place. Jamie Dunham, Brenna Van Engelenburg, Lexi Jahnke, Kelsey Behnke and Jamie Demo-Hanson qualified for sections.
The Section 2A meet will be at North Links Golf Course north of Mankato June 3.
