I work in the hospital kitchen, and part of my job is sending out meals in the community for the Meals on the Go program.

One day last week, one of our volunteers had a car accident while he was out delivering meals to some of our clients. He was brought up to the hospital to be treated, but he wasn’t done delivering all his meals. With thoughtfulness and concern, the firefighters finished delivering the rest of the meals for him. I just thought that was awesome! The Albert Lea Fire Department went above and beyond their duties to help our community. A BIG thank you to the Albert Lea Fire Department and especially to the ones who took it upon themselves to deliver those meals to our clients.
