ST. PAUL — State legislators from around the country will be called together next summer in Minnesota.
The National Conference of State Legislatures, a bipartisan research and policy group, is planning its annual legislative summit in Minneapolis. It’s set for August 2014.
The state’s traditional home to government, the Minnesota Capitol building, will be in the midst of a massive renovation by then.
A Minnesota budget bill signed last week authorizes spending of up to $100,000 to prepare for the conference. Expected revenue from attendee hotel stays, meal tabs and other expenses could more than make up for the upfront costs.
This year’s national conference is being held in Atlanta.
