The United South Central boys’ and girls’ golf teams both punched their tickets to state Monday by winning their Section 2A golf tournaments at North Links Golf Course.
The USC boys beat second-place Bethlehem Academy by 13 strokes to seal the win.
The Rebels have won all their tournaments, and the lone blemish on their record is a loss to Albert Lea in a dual.
“We’ve had a successful season,” USC head coach Brad Huse said. “We’ve met all of our goals so far. We just have one left: the state title.”
Nick Neubauer led the Rebels by shooting a 76.
“At any time, any one of them can score for us, one through six,” Huse said.
The USC girls team kept a perfect season intact with a nine-stroke win over second-place Sleepy Eye.
“We haven’t been beaten yet,” Huse said. “We’ve won six duals, two tournaments, our conference meet, the subsection and the section.”
Three Rebels shot under 100. Ali Wood led the way with an 88. Claire Christian shot a 91, and Kyley Bullerman shot a 99.
“We’re very happy to get to state,” Huse said. “We sent three individuals last year, and it was our goal to make it as a team this year.”
The state golf tournament will be June 11 and 12.
