United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women met May 1 with a piano selection by Merle Stensrud.
Perian Buringa and Marcia Moyer presented the memorial service in memory of Dee Wire, Jeanne Holstad and Bette Landis.
President Gerry Horswell opened the meeting with prayer and thanked Hope Circle for the program and Just Three Circle for the lunch.
The April minutes circle reports and correspondence were read by secretary JoAnn Seuser and the treasurer’s report was read by Ruth Vermedahl.
Spiritual Growth chairwoman Adean Turner gave various Mother’s Day readings and Social Action chairwoman Sharon Nelson reminded the group to put the golden rule into action.
Moyer reported that the group was to help with bingo on May 8 at the Good Samaritan Society and to serve dessert and coffee at St. John’s Lutheran Home on May 19. A committee is being formed to work on fundraising projects.
Stensrud reminded the group of the special meetings to help make decisions for worship services.
The next meeting was at 9:30 a.m. June 5 with coffee served by Martha Circle and program by Mary Grace circle.
