Acts chosen for talent competition

The acts for the 32nd annual Texaco Country Showdown at the Paramount Theatre in Austin have been chosen. The showdown will be from 7 to 9 p.m. June 22.
The acts are Wayne Nordstrom, West Concord, Amanda Corey, Austin, Jennifer Ordalen, Albert Lea, J.T. Thompson, Rochester, Dunnell Lenort, Twin Lakes, Angel Niemeyer, Albert Lea, Ashley Willett, Albert Lea, Devyn Nicholson, Scarville, Iowa, All BS Band Shane Christensen, Albert Lea and Brett Feist, Wells, Larissa Lundstrom, Lakeville, Charley Fleek, Albert Lea, Adam Wayne, Adams, and Kellie Lawless, Cannon Falls.
The acts will compete at the local level for prizes and the opportunity to perform in the Minnesota State Texaco Showdown. State winners will compete for a $1,000 cash prize and will advance to a regional competition in the fall. The five regional winners are awarded an all-expense paid trip to the national finals where they will compete for the $100,000 grand prize and the national title.
The host for the local event is Ron Hunter of KQPR-FM and KQAQ-AM. The judging panel will be Mike Woitas, Neil Lang, Merle Krause and guest judge will be Mrs. International, Sarah Bazey.

The cost is $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
