The Albert Lea Art Center will host an exhibit titled “Celebrating the Lakes of Freeborn County,” today through July 26 at the Albert Lea Art Center. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
An open house for the exhibit will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Art Center. Guest speaker, Jerad Stricker, conservation technician, from the Shell Rock River Watershed District will discuss his work with water quality, restoration and habitat projects. The open house and exhibit is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. Laura Lunde will introduce Stricker.
The Art Center is excited to present this exhibit showcasing the beautiful lakes of Albert Lea and the surrounding areas. Depicted in paintings, photography and historic memorabilia, the exhibit will highlight the picturesque natural resources that the public gets to enjoy every day, but may take for granted.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
