Kyle Ooms scored 30 points Tuesday and Tyler Wichmann recorded 18 as the Albert Lea Tigers boys’ basketball team defeated the Waseca Bluejays 71-59 in Waseca.

Alik Smed also tallied 14 points on the night for Albert Lea.

The Tigers shot 52 percent from the field and totaled 22 assists with only eight turnovers.

“They didn’t have an answer for Kyle (Ooms) and our guys did a great job of feeding him the ball.” Albert Lea coach Lucas Kreuscher said.

Albert Lea is back in action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday as they travel to Rochester to take on the Mayo Spartans.
