Bulldogs remain perfect in NIC play

The Lake Mills volleyball team is really showing the strength of a program early in the 2009 season and the Bulldogs continued to do what they have to conference opponents for the past six years Thursday with a three-set win over Belmond-Klemme in Lake Mills.
The Bulldogs went on big runs in each of the three sets for a 25-8, 25-14, 25-12 win against the Broncos on parents’ night.
Lake Mills (7-2, 3-0 NIC) had a tremendous night serving, tallying 24 team aces. Josie Brackey led the way with nine aces on 21-for-22 serving while Lindy Pins went 15-for-16 with eight aces and Morgan Fjelstad went 14-for-15 with four aces.
Brackey also added eight kills and Fjelstad had 20 assists.
“Our girls are really starting to develop fundamentally,” said Bulldogs head coach Jim Boehmer.
Lake Mills travels to Manly Saturday for the Central Springs tournament.
