Ella Otten from Albert Lea High School and Addison Galagan from Alden-Conger High School have been awarded $600 scholarships from Church Women United.

Otten is the daughter of Kim and Daniel Otten and will attend the University of Minnesota with a major in nutrition.

Galagan is the son of Marie and James Galagan and will also attend the University of Minnesota, majoring in architectural design.

Both students have been active in their churches, schools and communities.

Church Women United is an organization of women from various local churches who have met quarterly for Christian programs.

Along with personal donations, a May salad luncheon has been held each year to fund scholarships. This is the last year that scholarships will be given.
