HAYWARD — Alcohol was a factor in a rollover Saturday night where six people were injured and taken to local hospitals, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The driver, 45-year-old Wanda J. Rud of Austin, was headed eastbound on I-90 two miles east of Hayward when she lost control of her 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette. The vehicle rolled when Rud overcorrected, the State Patrol report says. The report places the incident at 10:49 p.m.
Rud was not injured. She had six adult passengers, all of whom survived the rollover but sustained injuries, the State Patrol report said.
The report said alcohol was detected on the driver and all six of her adult passengers.
The report says the passengers were Sarah A. Christopherson, 37, of Brownsdale; Ashlee E. Rud, 21, of Austin; Lee C. Hunt, 38, city unknown; Jamie J. Guy, 31, city unknown; Mathew J. Miller, 24, of Austin; and Travis J. Anderson, 36, of Austin.
Christopherson, Anderson and the two Ruds were transported to Albert Lea Medical Center. The State Patrol report said everyone in the minivan was wearing their seat belts except for Ashlee Rud.
The report says she was ejected from the minivan.
Lee, Guy and Miller were transported to Austin Medical Center.
Motorists on I-90 that evening told the Tribune that the freeway was closed temporarily so that a helicopter could land and transport the injured.
The minivan was towed away by Allen’s Tow-N-Travel of Albert Lea.
