The Naeve Health Care Foundation will host a gala Sept. 21 to celebrate its 50th anniversary and to help raise funds for its next project that will benefit Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
“Over the years our mission hasn’t changed. It is still, and always will be, to support our local Albert Lea medical center, its satellite locations and to support the health care needs or our community,” Naeve Health Care Foundation President Claire Vermedahl said.
Each year the foundation picks a project to help the medical center. This year it hopes to raise money to help replace an aging call light system in the hospital.
“We chose replacing the call light system as this year’s spotlight project because of the scope and necessity of the project,” Vermedahl said. “We are proud to be a part of this.”
The foundation began in 1963 and has assisted the clinic in Albert Lea with various projects throughout the years. In previous years it has helped to raise money for an ambulance, mammography equipment, radiology equipment and construction updates, among other projects.
The gala will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club in Albert Lea. Tickets are $100 per person. Cocktail attire is requested and all proceeds go to helping buy the new call light system. There will be hors d’oeuvres and an open bar all night. Modd Squad, a band from the Twin Cities, will provide entertainment. Call the foundation office at 507-377-6380 for tickets or for more information.
