WILLMAR — Authorities are investigating a fatal house fire in Willmar.

Someone passing by the home Tuesday saw smoke coming from the eaves of the house and called for help. Firefighters responded and found a fire in the kitchen of the house and the person who died.

A neighbor, Jerry Gesch, said the home was occupied by an elderly widow.
