HARTLAND — You cannot get any sort of degree from Hartland University, nor will you find students, professors, homework or exams there.

But the bar, which is on Broadway Street in Hartland, does have all the amenities of college nightlife.

Hartland University, or Hartland U for short, opened in December 1997 and has since provided nightly drink specials and various events in the small town of just more than 300 people. The bar is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Hartland U had volleyball and beanbag leagues throughout the summer and will have pool and dart leagues this winter. There are frequent meat raffles, one of which will be this Friday. The bar hosts an annual two-person team pheasant hunt during the winter.

The bar has two keg trailers that are available for rent and also has a Facebook page that is frequently updated with new events.
