Big Island Rendezvous: Help students celebrate Minnesota history at this year’s Big Island Rendezvous. Student days are Oct. 3 and 4, and tour guides are needed to ensure that the classes get to their appointed areas on schedule. Just come to the orientation at 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Bancroft Bay; experienced guides can come to the Rendezvous site around 7:30 a.m. Oct. 3. You are needed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 and 4. Help one day or two and get free admission to the weekend event. If you have questions, call the Chamber at 373-3938 or Perry Vining at 402-6371.
Salvation Army meals: The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve meals at 302 Court St., Albert Lea. Since meals are available Mondays through Fridays, they’d welcome volunteers any of those days, with shifts starting around 9 a.m. and ending after the lunch hour. If you’re interested and available, just come to the church at 302 Court St. during morning hours. For more information, call RSVP at 377-7433.
The Albert Lea Art Center: The center is looking for one or two volunteers to fill a 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. time slot Tuesdays through Fridays through Oct. 11. You would welcome visitors to the Art & Faith Gallery Show, and work with the Art Center office manager. If you can take one of these slots or would like to volunteer for other Art Center activities, call 373-5665 for more information or to sign up.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
