The Albert Lea girls’ soccer team tied Mankato West Tuesday 0-0 after two overtime periods.
The Tigers had a four-minute advantage in time of possession, but the Scarlets had more shots on goal (13-12).
“Both teams had some quality chances,” Albert Lea head coach Rick Barnhill said.
All of Mankato West’s scoring chances were thwarted by Albert Lea goalkeeper, Hanna DeVries.
“Hanna was simply spectacular today,” Barnhill said. “They have some highly acclaimed scorers on their side, and Hanna was up for the challenge as well as our collective team defense.”
The Tigers moved to 8-3-1 on the season.
The Albert Lea junior varsity beat Mankato West 2-1 to improve to 8-2 overall.
Next, the Tigers host Rochester Century at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The Panthers are 5-7-1. Rochester Century began the season 0-4-1, but it has won four of their last six games.
