St. John’s Auxiliary
The St. John’s Auxiliary met at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 in St. John’s chapel. President Caroline Sorenson welcomed everyone. Devotions were led by the Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister. Becky Nordland on the piano led the group in singing “Give to Our God Immortal Praise” and “He Leadeth Me.”
Auxiliary secretary Bonnie Schneider read the minutes of the Aug. 19 meeting. Lorraine Schaper gave the treasurer’s report. The reports were approved as read.
Volunteer coordinator Carla Reichel reported that 806 volunteer hours were given in August. Daycare had 12 hours and two sing-alongs.
Activities planned for the residents in October are as follows: L.A. Sasse, Oct. 1, John Ulland, Oct. 3, Del and Caroline Begalka, Oct. 4, Debbie Norland country music, Oct. 11, Dunnell Lenort, Oct. 12, 3 CD’s music, Oct. 18, Charlie and Caroline Reed, Oct. 23, Dale Martell music, Oct. 25, opening of the Tunnel of Terror, Oct. 30, and Halloween Party, Oct. 31.
Vice President Jan Jerdee read the names of residents celebrating September birthdays and the birthday song was sung.
Churches thanked for serving Sunday coffee were St. Paul Lutheran (Conger), Zion Lutheran (2) and United Methodist.
The program was provided by Eileen Ness who is the organist at Salem Lutheran. She played many spiritual and gospel songs on the piano.
Refreshments were provided by First North and St. John’s dietary department.
The Lord’s prayer closed the meeting.
