Richard Edward (Dick) Mickelson, 85, of Minnetonka, died on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013.

Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgie; and son, Richard.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Jeff) Thompson; and son, James (Deb) Mickelson.

Dick was an active member of the VFW and the sheriff’s water patrol.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Therese of Deephaven, 18323 Minnetonka Boulevard, Wayzata. The church can be reached at 952-473-4422.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home, 520 Second St. in Excelsior, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery in Albert Lea at noon Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Fisher House.
