Cloquet man dies in ATV accident

AURORA — A 37-year-old Cloquet man has died in an ATV accident.
The St. Louis County sheriff’s office said it happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday when a large group of four-wheelers were traveling between Aurora and Hoyt Lakes on the Ranger Off Road Recreational Trail.
The news release says Ryan Ewald was driving the lead ATV with his wife, 30-year-old Amy Ewald, as the back passenger He was attempting to climb a steep, slippery hill when they both fell off. The four-wheeler then rolled and struck him in the head.
He died at Northern Pines Hospital in Aurora. His wife was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
