United South Central senior enjoys bonding with the team

Q: What year are you in school?

A: Senior.

 

Q: What school do you attend?

A: United South Central.

 

Q: Who is your immediate family?

A: My father is Corey, my mother is Mary and I have three sisters: Ashley, Aubrey and Bailey.

 

Q: What sports are you involved in?

A: I play volleyball.

 

Q: What is your favorite part of playing volleyball?

A: The team bonding.

 

Q: What has playing volleyball taught you?

A: I’ve learned to always work hard, stay motivated and believe in myself.

 

Q: What number are you?

A: No. 5.

 

Q: How did you get started in volleyball?

A: I started when I was really young. It was always fun looking up to older girls who played volleyball, and it’s really exciting to watch. It’s a really fun game, and I think that’s why everyone starts. You look up to people, and I kind of get into it.

 

Q: What sports did your family members play?

A: My sister Bailey is on the team, she’s No. 10, and my two older sisters — they’ve graduated now — but they used to play volleyball when they were younger, and they also ran track and cross country.

Q: What are your sports-related achievements? 

A: I just think, as a team in general, achieving certain things, like if we play really well and win a certain game — that means a lot to us: like beating Alden-Conger or when we were the three-peat champs of the Truman tournament this year.

 

Q: What are your sports-related goals? 

A: We really need to work hard and stay dedicated. We need to play focused and relaxed, and I think we get really nervous. We play really well together, and we know we can go far if we work hard.

 

Q: What are your college plans? 

A: I’m planning to go to the Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Q: What is your favorite school subject? 

A: History.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher? 

A: Kara Christianson.

Q: What is your dream job?

A: I want to go into communication disorders and sciences and be a speech pathologist.

 

Q: What is your favorite TV show?

A: “Modern Family.”

 

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Spaghetti with bread sticks.
