The Marion Ross Performing Arts Center will host a high definition broadcast performance of the play “Macbeth” by National Theatre Live at 6 p.m. Thursday.

National Theatre Live is the National Theatre’s groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre live from the London stage to cinemas across the UK and around the world. The Marion Ross Performing Arts Center will host “Macbeth” as part of National Theatre’s 50th anniversary celebration.

National Theatre Live will broadcast Manchester International Festival’s electrifying production of “Macbeth” with Kenneth Branagh as the Scottish king and Alex Kingston as Lady Macbeth.

Directed by Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh, this production of Shakespeare’s tragic tale of ambition and treachery unfolds within the walls of an intimate deconsecrated Manchester church.

Other National Theatre Live performances to be broadcast at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center this season are:
