Deer season has chilly opener

FERGUS FALLS — Gov. Mark Dayton said there was good news and bad news for hunters as Minnesota’s firearms deer season opened Saturday.
Dayton wished everybody good hunting when he spoke at a luncheon in Fergus Falls on Friday for the annual Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener.
He told the crowd the bad news is the forecast for early Saturday morning was for temperatures around 25 degrees. He told them the good news was that Saturday was predicted to be the warmest morning for the next several days. So he claimed credit for bringing them good weather.
