3 injured in crash north of Albert Lea

Five people and four vehicles were involved in a crash at 6:43 p.m. Friday on Interstate 35 north of Albert Lea.
Mark S. King, 52, of Troy, Pa., pulled his 2011 Honda Ridgeline into the emergency crossover area of the median on northbound I-35 near milepost 14. Jeffrey W. Kruger, 59, of Owatonna was driving a 2011 Ford Taurus and struck the trailer of King’s vehicle that was extending into the lane. Kruger received injuries that were not life-threatening, and King received no apparent injuries.
Both Anthony A. Pudenz, 54, and Sharon Pudenz, no age listed, of Ackley, Iowa, received injuries that were not life-threatening after their 2010 Lincoln MKZ swerved to avoid the crash and struck an unknown object in the roadway, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Their car was then struck by a 2005 International 8000 series driven by Ronald Moody Jr., 38, of San Diego, Calif. Moody Jr. had no apparent injuries.
Both Kruger and the Pudenz couple were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for their injuries.
The Albert Lea Police Department, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol responded to the crash.
