ST. PAUL β Police say an armed suspect was shot by an officer and critically wounded in St. Paul and a man in a nearby house was grazed by a stray bullet.
Authorities responded to a burglary call about early Sunday and heard shots nearby. An officer tried to stop a suspicious vehicle, but the driver took off and the sergeant pursued it. Police say when the vehicle slowed down, an armed suspect bailed out and fled.
It was reported the officer followed and fired multiple times, hitting the suspect. At least one bullet hit a home and slightly injured man inside.
Police say itβs not known whether the bullet that hit the house came from the officer or the suspect. A handgun that did not belong to the officer was recovered from the scene.
