Here are highlights in history for March 14, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — Helmer Myre State Park Naturalist Mark Cleveland was demonstrating how to collect sap from maple trees and make syrup.
1975 — Preliminary plans for 180 housing units in the Channel View Urban Renewal Area between Newton Avenue and the channel on East Front Street were depicted in the Tribune.
1965 — Roger Neist of Albert Lea High School won the A title on the parallel bars at the state gymnastics meet held in Roseville.
