ALDEN — Since 2005 Accents has been providing southern Minnesota with everything it needs, decorating wise.
Accents is operated by Jolene Bute, the head coach of the Alden-Conger High School volleyball team. Bute said they decided to open up a shop in Alden because of the busy highway, the great community and the school system.
“We design and decorate basically anything,” Bute said. “We do a lot of creative decorating.”
The store, at 155 S. Broadway, can help with both small- and large-scale events.
“We do at least 53 weddings a year, and I don’t know how many other arrangements and stuff like that go out,” She said. “We do lots of events.”
When asked what her favorite kind of event to decorate for was, Bute first named her least favorite: Valentine’s Day. She said doing weddings was her favorite.
Accents is entering one of its busiest times of the year. Bute said the time around Christmas saw a lot of business along with May through November for weddings, which basically occur every single weekend during the stretch.
Anybody can drop by Accents in Alden and browse the gifts they have available for purchase there. Orders can be made by calling 507-874-3425. The company also has a regularly-updated Facebook page with examples of their work.
“You can stop in at our shop here in Alden anytime,” Bute said. “We have a lot of gift ideas.”
