Open house, nativity and supper at Bolan Schoolhouse

There will be a Christmas open house at the Bolan Schoolhouse & Cultural Center in Bolan, Iowa, from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 8. Residents are invited to take a look at the renovated 1923 Barton No. 2 school.

A live nativity and Christmas story and soup supper will be on the same day with narration beginning at 5 p.m.

Larry and Kristy Ausborn of Bolan are providing the animals. The manger scene will take place in the former Bolan store wood floor feed shed. The Rev. Don Preston will narrate from the Bible books of Luke and Matthew. There will be baskets at the foot of the manger to collect money and items for Manna of Worth County.

Trinity United Methodist Church of Bolan is hosting the event along with a homemade soup supper. The meal is free and serving begins at 4 p.m.

Families may bring clothing to be angels, shepherds or wisemen or wear what the church has available. Preparation will be in the Bolan Schoolhouse & Cultural Center, 4206 Tulip Lane in Bolan at 4:30 p.m.
