Kent Porter, the son of Keith Sr. and Dorothy Porter of Albert Lea and Karelyn Porter of Rochester, was promoted to Lt. Colonel in October. Porter is in the Army National Guard and is stationed in Cheyenne, Wyo. A promotion ceremony was held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Albert Lea American Legion.
