ST. LOUIS PARK  — The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of a car in which two children died and three others were injured may have overcorrected on a wet road before the vehicle landed in a retention pond.

The patrol’s preliminary investigation cites evidence of overcorrection by driver Marion Guerrido who veered off a highway ramp in St. Louis Park Nov. 21. A search warrant filed in Hennepin County asks for the car’s sensing and diagnostic module. It may have recorded speed of the vehicle, braking, RPMs and throttle position.

The State Patrol said the final report might not be released for weeks. Guerrido’s 7-year-old son, Alarious Coleman-Guerrido and her boyfriend’s 5-year-old daughter, Zen Avia Rennie, drowned. A family attorney said the three other children are improving.
