The Albert Lea girls’ hockey team bounced back from an 8-0 loss Saturday at Rochester Century with a 3-2 win Tuesday against Lu Verne at the Albert Lea City Arena.
The Tigers exploded offensively in the first period with three goals. Hannah Savelkoul found the net twice for the Tigers and Maddi Herrera scored once.
Anna Englin led Albert Lea with two assists and goalie Katie Schwartz held off a late surge by Lu Verne with 23 saves.
Next, the Tigers (5-9 overall, 3-4 Big Nine Conference) hosts Faribault Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
