A Bricelyn man died Sunday afternoon after he reportedly crashed his snowmobile into a tree south of Rutledge.

Jordan Daniel Mutschler, 22, was driving southbound on the Willard Munger Trail when he left the trail and struck the tree, according to a Pine County Sheriff’s Office news release. Rutledge is in east-central Minnesota.

The release stated Mutschler was riding with a group of other riders, but no one witnessed the crash. Alcohol may have been a factor.

Mutschler was found lying in the ditch near the wrecked snowmobile and was unresponsive.

The crash took place at about 3:30 p.m.

Mutschler’s funeral services are slated for 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home.
