AUSTIN — One of two people facing felony charges after a drug bust reportedly uncovered more than 9 grams of methamphetamine on Sept. 30 was sent to prison.
Joshua Faas, 27, of St. Ansgar, was sentenced to 67 months in prison for second-degree drug possession of more than 6 grams of methamphetamine. He was also re-sentenced on a felony drug conviction from February.
Jon Faas, 25, of Austin, has pleaded not guilty to the same charge in Mower County Court. He has a pretrial set for Jan. 17.
Police arrested the men near Eighth Street and First Avenue Northwest after 1 a.m. Sept. 30. According to the court complaint, the men were in a car parked the wrong way and appeared to duck and make furtive movements as an officer approached. The complaint added Jon exited the vehicle but was ordered back inside. Joshua then tried to exit and was also ordered back inside at gunpoint. After searching the vehicle, police reportedly found 8.85 grams of meth in a briefcase and 0.6 grams of meth in Jon’s hat.
