Emily Morrison, a former resident from Albert Lea, recently received the Meeker County Senior Volunteer Award for 2009. She has been actively involved with volunteering for an Adult Day Care Center at her Augustana Homes complex in Litchfield.

Over a period of 10 years, she was also very active with the Minnesota State 4-H Horse Show.

While living in Albert Lea, she worked at the Doll Museum, and also volunteered for the Big Island Rendezvous and many Southern Minnesota Albert Lea REACT projects. She moved to Litchfield in mid-2003.

Emily indicated that she was very surprised, but honored by the award. She thoroughly enjoys working with the program; it helps her come home each day with a smile on her face. She looks forward to continuing as a volunteer.
