Here are highlights in history for March 18, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1989 — An article in the Tribune was based on the St. Patrick’s Day Blizzard of 1965 and the flooding problems that followed in early April.
1979 — The Albert Lea Community Theatre was presenting the play, “The Sunshine Boys.” Starring in this production were Bonnie Schallock, Bill Morris, Len Bollman and Frank O’Brien.
1969 — Lea College started its “Sock it to Lea” million dollar fund drive. The goal was to raise money to build several campus buildings.
