Saving cottage is coming along
Published 9:50 am Friday, January 17, 2014
The committee to save Edgewater Cottage is pleased to report that the Albert Lea City Council has approved the plans and specifications provided by the Architect and Engineer for the renovation.
Part of the agreement with the city and Cloverleaf Lions of Albert Lea was to have this approval by Dec. 31, 2013. It is done.
Now, the next step is to have the money needed to complete the project in hand by April 1, 2014. Fellow residents that have good memories of the cottage and its use, we need your help still. Approximately one-third of the $35,000 needed has been received and is appreciated.
Now, your help is needed to reach this next step by April 1.
Well over $70,000 in valuable materials and supplies and equipment has been donated and provided. The money necessary is for the things not already given, plus some for the professional help likely needed such as carpenters.
Please make your financial contribution to the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce Foundation and send to the chamber at 2580 Bridge Ave., Albert Lea MN 56007. Note on the memo line of your check: Edgewater Cottage. All such gifts are tax-deductible.
