The Freeborn County Home Council met Feb. 28 at the home of Ardus Sanderson. President Marcia Petersen opened the meeting. Vice President Ardus Sanderson led the Homemakers Creed. Secretary Perky Smith took roll call with three Learning Circles represented. All officers were present.

The agenda was approved. Minutes of the Jan. 18 meeting were read and approved. Gen Montei gave the treasurer’s report.

Big Island club reported on the progress the nominating committee has made on officer candidates for 2011-12. The scholarship luncheon and installation date will be July 19.

District Representative Bev Diercks announced the date of April 12 for the District Learning Circles event. This will be held in Kasson at the Event Center. Registrations have been mailed to members, and the deadline to respond is April 5.

The Cluster Spring Event is hosted by Freeborn County and will be held April 26 at America’s Best Value Inn. Registration deadline is April 19 and need to be sent to Montei. Australia is the theme country, with speaker Mike Whitney of Mankato. Husbands and friends are invited to attend.

The next Home Council meeting will be May 17 at the home of Perky Smith.
