Thelma Mae Ruhnke, 89, of Midland, Texas, died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland. Services will be at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea.
Thelma was born July 21, 1924, to Carrie and Edward Pepperling in Iowa. She married Wallace (Butch) Ruhnke, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Thelma was a hospital auxiliary volunteer, Red Cross volunteer and friend and mentor to many. She was a member at the Conservative Congregational Church in Hollandale. Thelma loved the Lord and her family with her whole heart. She was a devoted Christian, lived her full life for Christ and is now gone to be with him. Thelma was loved by many and will be missed.
Survivors include son, Michael Dale Ruhnke and wife, Frances; grandsons Michael Jon Ruhnke and wife, Emily, and C.J. Ruhnke; great-grandson, Bradley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
