Gary and Kathy Watney of Albert Lea announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Watney, to Eric Johnson, son of Pete and Linda Riedl of Jefferson, Wis., and the late David Johnson.

Amber is a 2002 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin — Madison with a bachelor’s of science degree in biology and sociology.

Eric is a 2000 graduate of Anderson County High School in Clinton, Tenn., and a 2003 graduate of Roane State with a degree in general science.

The couple resides in Madison, Wis., and both work in pharmaceutical research.

The wedding is planned for May 14 in Wisconsin Dells.
