Harlowe Sorenson, 82, Bella Vista, Ark.

Harlowe Ernest Sorenson, age 82, of Bella Vista, Ark., died on Feb. 3, 2014. He was born in Albert Lea on Sept. 1, 1931, and was the son of Ernest and Stella Sorenson. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After attending Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, he worked as an engineer at IBM in Rochester for 30 years. He and Marlys retired to Bella Vista, where he enjoyed golfing and saw sharpening and also was a volunteer for the Courtesy Van and Crime Watch.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlys, and their three daughters and families: Vickie, Larry and Heather Laughlin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Debi, Dave, Cassi and Lindsey Anderson of Alexandria and only great-grandson, Braden; Donna and Jerry Hobson, Stacy and Jeff Berger of Bella Vista. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Virginia Sorenson of Albert Lea and sister-in-law Lavon Sorenson of Rochester.

Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Visitation will occur at 10 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
