Lake Mills boys take down Osage

After starting the season 11-3, the Lake Mills boys’ basketball team lost two straight games.
However, the Bulldogs got back on track Friday with a 57-53 home win over Osage.
At halftime, Lake Mills clung to a one-point lead. By the time the fourth quarter started, Osage flipped the script and led 36-35.
The Bulldogs fought back and outscored the Green Devils 22-17 in the final period.
“We took care of the ball down the stretch and knocked down enough free throws to seal the win,” said Lake Mills head coach Kyle Menke. “It was a hard-fought game by both teams.”
Josh Peters led the Bulldogs with 14 points, 2 1/2 more than his season average, which is third-most on the team.
Hunter Kingland leads Lake Mills with 16.2 points per game, and he scored 11 at Osage to go with a team-high nine rebounds. On the season, he leads the team with 6.6 boards per game.
Next, Lake Mills (12-5 overall, 8-4 North Iowa Conference) will host Belmond-Klemme at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
The Bulldogs beat the Broncos 66-63 Jan. 17 at home.
