Memorial services for Wyeth Paul Anderson Sr., 73, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jake Loper will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Wyeth Paul (Buddy) Anderson Sr. was born on July 6, 1937, to Wyeth J. and Pauline (Wendt) Anderson in Albert Lea. He farmed with his grandpa as a youngster and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955. He continued to farm through the mid 1970s, and in 1955 also was employed at Wilson & Co. Buddy married Marilyn Nelson on Dec. 14, 1957, in Rushford. The couple made their home in the Albert Lea area and Buddy retired from Wilson’s in 1987. He then went on to own and operate Jake’s Pizza with his family for 20 years. Buddy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Glenville, a life member of the Elks Lodge and also a member of the Northwood Country Club, Albert Lea Country Club and Green Lea Golf Course. He was a founding member of the Glenville Gun Club and an active member for many years. Buddy enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing and all sports. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Blessed be his memory.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of Albert Lea; children: Jodell (Rusty) Anhorn of Waseca, Lisa Rippentrop and fiancé Brian Moyer of Albert Lea, Wendy (Dale) Woods of Andover, Lynnel (Eric) Lorenzen of Glenville, and Wyeth “Bill” (Shari) Anderson Jr. of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Paul (Cheryl) Citurs, Dilen (Rachel Lindschmidt) Rippentrop, Megan (Nick Busall) Rippentrop, Fallon Rippentrop, Thomas, Chelsea and Tanner Evenson, Emma Lorenzen, Wyeth C., Sarah and Jenna Anderson; great-granddaughter, Damaris Anderson; brother, Harry (Donna) Anderson of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Wolff, Roselyn (Don) Bruesewitz and Norma (Ken) Cluppert; aunt, Harriet Nelson of Northwood, Iowa; aunt and uncle, Leroy and Jeanette Offenhauser of Glenville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Duane Citurs; sister-in-law Evelyn (Jewel) Larson; brother-in-law, Willis Wolff; and one nephew.
