Max Knudtson, 94, Glenville

Funeral services for Max E. Knudtson, 94, of Glenville, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the American legion and VFW honor guard. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Bayview and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Max died on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society, in Albert Lea.

Max Eugene Knudtson was born on July 9, 1919, in Glenville, the son of Theodore and Donna (Wardall) Knudtson. He grew up and attended school in Glenville. Following school Max served in the U. S. Army during World War II. On Jan. 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Millie Korn in Walters. Max worked as a custodian at Southwest Middle School. He also drove a school bus and worked in maintenance for the city of Glenville. Max was a member of the Glenville United Methodist Church, the Glenville American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and eating baked goods and desserts.

Survivors include his children Eugene (Dianne) Knudtson, Craig (Theresa) Knudtson, Elaine Bohlen, and Gary Knudtson; grandchildren Kristin Lee, Felicia (Russ) Mezera, Chad (Chelsea) Knudtson, Ryan Knudtson and special friend Samantha Jorgenson, Jeff (Andrea Rodberg) Knudtson, Holly Bohlen and special friend Travis Heidebrink, and Amy Bohlen; great-grandchildren Alax Johnson, Kali Johnson, Paige Johnson, Hailie Knudtson, Chris Mezera, and Owen Knudtson; sister, Mary Anderson, sister-in-law Wilma Dunbar; brother-in-law, Junior (Harriet) Korn; and nieces and nephews.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Millie, son Donny, granddaughter Gabrielle Johnson, great-grandson Gage Knudtson, sister Bessie and twin sister Margaret and brothers Freddie and Donald.
